Add a blog to a Framer site
Framer can show the CMSKite embed through its Embed component. How well search engines credit the posts depends on how Framer places that embed, so this guide ends with a check. About ten minutes.
Before you start
- A Framer site you can publish
- Your blog name from Connect website in the dashboard
Add the embed
Make a Blog page
Add a new page in Framer and name it Blog.
Insert an Embed
Add Framer's Embed component where the posts should go, choose HTML, and paste the snippet.
html<div id="cmskite-blog"></div> <script src="https://cmskite.com/embed.js" data-blog="your-blog" async></script>Give it room
Set the embed's height to fit its content, or to a tall fixed value, so the post list is not cut off.
Publish
Embeds run on the published site. The editor canvas may show them empty.
Check how search engines see it
Open the published Blog page, choose View page source, and search for a post title.
- Found: the posts are part of your page and rank on your domain
- Not found: the embed is inside a frame or drawn later. Readers see the posts, but the free link at cmskite.com/b/your-blog is the copy that ranks. Link to it from your menu
Check that it works
- Publish a short test post in the dashboard
- Open the Blog page in a private window and reload. The post should be in the list within a minute
- Open the post. Its address should be your site's, not cmskite.com
- Delete or unpublish the test post when you are done
If something is wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Nothing shows | Check data-blog matches the name under Connect website, and that at least one post is published, not a draft |
| An old post list | Posts appear within a minute of publishing. Reload without the cache (Shift + reload) |
| The list is cut off | Make the Embed taller, or set its height to fit content |
