The post editor
Open Posts and choose a post, or start a new one. The editor is the page in the middle; the post settings sit in the panel beside it. Changes save as you go: the top bar says All changes saved when they have.
The parts of a post
| Field | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Title | The post's headline, and its search title unless you set another |
| Short description | Shown in feeds, search results and link previews |
| Banner image | The picture at the top of the post and in share previews |
| Body | The post itself |
Four ways to write
Pick one under Body format. You can change it later; the editor asks before it converts.
| Format | Good for |
|---|---|
| Rich text | Writing as in a word processor. Paste from Google Docs or Word and the formatting comes with it |
| Markdown | Writers who know it. Links, lists, quotes and code all work |
| HTML | Pasting from another system. It is stored exactly as written |
| Plain text | Short notes. Blank lines become paragraphs |
Your site gets the body in the same format, with bodyFormat telling it which. The SDK and the embed handle all four.
The rich-text toolbar
Headings 1 to 3, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, inline code, bullet and numbered lists, quotes, code blocks, dividers, links, images and tables. Inserted images ask for a description: that is the alt text, see Images and alt text.
Preview and full screen
- Preview shows the body as readers see it
- Source shows the Markdown or HTML behind it
- Full screen hides everything but the text. Press Esc to leave
Drafts and who can publish
A new post is a draft: private, and invisible to API keys and the embed. Press Publish to make it live, or schedule it (Scheduling posts). If your role can only write drafts, the editor says so and an editor or admin publishes (Team and roles).
Text in square brackets
Drafts written by AI leave your own details, like a price or a customer's name, in [square brackets]. The settings panel counts them under things to fill in, and Show me jumps to each one. Fill them in before you publish.
