Placement

OptionResult
At the startBefore the first line of the post
At the endAfter the last line
Before heading NBefore the Nth H2 heading
After heading NAfter the Nth H2 heading

N is a number from 1 to 20. If the post has fewer H2 headings than N, the snippet goes at the end. Headings inside code fences do not count.

Which posts get it

Pick a category, an author, or tags. Each one can stay on Any. A post must match every one that you set. With all three on Any, every post gets the snippet.

With several tags, a post matches if it has any one of them. A snippet can have up to 50 targets.

Where it shows

  • The snippet is added when CMSKite serves a published post to the hosted blog or to your website through a project key. It is never saved in the post.
  • The editor shows the post as you wrote it.
  • Plain-text posts never get snippets.
  • The hosted blog removes scripts and event handlers from a snippet. A website that reads the API gets your HTML as written.
  • CMSKite wraps the block in <div class="cmskite-snippet" data-snippet="…">. Use that class to style it.
