Turn comments on

  1. Get your shortname

Create a site in Disqus. The shortname is the name in your Disqus site address, like acme-blog.

  2. Enter it

Open Website settings → General, find Blog design, and type the shortname in Disqus comments.

  3. Save

Save the card. Open a post on your hosted blog to see the thread.

Leave the field empty for no comments. It takes letters, numbers and dashes only.

How it works

  • The thread shows on the post page, under the article, on the hosted blog.
  • Each thread is tied to the post, so it stays when you change the post’s title.
  • The thread uses the post’s canonical address. If your own site is the home of the post, the thread follows that address.
  • The page loads Disqus’s script from your-shortname.disqus.com. Disqus’s own terms and privacy rules apply to the thread.

What it does not do

  • Comments show on the hosted blog only. The embed does not draw them. Add Disqus to your own page if you use the embed.
  • CMSKite does not store or moderate comments. You moderate them in Disqus.
