Sitemaps, feeds, llms.txt and IndexNow
Search engines, feed readers and AI tools read files, not pages. Your blog publishes these by itself and keeps them up to date as you write.
The files
| Address | What it is |
|---|---|
/b/your-blog/sitemap.xml | Every post and category on your free blog link |
/b/your-blog/site-sitemap.xml | Every post at its address on your own site |
/b/your-blog/feed.xml | The RSS feed: newest posts for feed readers and newsletters |
/b/your-blog/llms.txt | A plain-text list of your posts for AI tools |
All of them start with https://cmskite.com. Posts marked Keep this out of search engines are left out of the sitemaps.
On your own site
Name the site sitemap in your robots.txt, so search engines read it as yours: Sitemap: https://cmskite.com/b/your-blog/site-sitemap.xml. With the SDK you can instead build your own sitemap.xml from cms.posts.all(); see Making your posts findable.
IndexNow
Turn on Ping search engines on publish in Website settings → SEO profile. Bing, Copilot, Yandex and other IndexNow engines are then told at once when a post is published, changed or unpublished. The hosted blog needs nothing else. Google does not use IndexNow; it reads the sitemap.
