   Add the search title and meta description, an optional focus keyword, and the post itself as plain text, Markdown or HTML.

   English, Portuguese or Spanish, so readability is measured for the language you wrote in.

   You get a score out of 100 and the three issues that cost you the most points.

• Content: search title length, meta description length, how long the post is, and how easy it is to read.
• Focus keyword: whether it is set, and where it appears: the title, the meta description, the first paragraph, a subheading, and how often it is used.
• Structure: subheadings and their order, alt text on images, internal and external links, and link text.

A post saved in CMSKite is also checked for technical settings, such as whether search engines may index it, its URL and its cover image. The free checker does not see those, so they are not part of its score.

Every check has a number of points. A pass earns all of them, a warning earns half, and a fail earns none. Checks that do not apply, such as readability in a language we do not measure, are left out. The score is the points earned out of the points possible, as a whole number.

In a saved CMSKite post the groups carry content 35, focus keyword 20, structure 25 and technical 20. The free checker scores content, focus keyword and structure only. A score of 80 or more is green, 50 to 79 amber, and under 50 red.
